Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood
Sat, November 6, 2010
Come to this workshop to learn how to explore nature with young chidren. It is specially designed for parents and early childhood educators.
We are excited to offer this workshop in PLT's new Environmental Experiences in Early Childhood. The guide is receiving rave reviews from parents and educators alike, often described as "just what I needed to create more meaning from our time in nature." This new curriculum program creates opportunities for young children to explore, discover, and communicate in expressive ways through nature-based music and movement, exploration, literature, art, math and outdoor play.
The Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood guide contains 11 activities that include:
- a common experience for all students
- group exercises (music and movement, reading and writing, enjoying snacks, and taking neighborhood walks)
- learning centers (art, dramatic play, discovery tables, math and manipulatives, etc.)
- connections to appropriate reading material
- suggestions for extending the activities with families and friends
By participating in this workshop, you will receive the following:
- PLT's Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood Activity Guide
- CD of nature-themed music and movement, as identified in each activity
- 4 hours of professional development credits
- Useful "make and takes" and more!
