"At least half of my students didn't know [our town forest] was there... it's quite a gift to give to them!" (NH teacher)

NH Project Learning Tree has teamed up with the NH Tree Farm Program and the Society of American Foresters, Granite State Division, to connect teachers around the state with foresters and Tree Farmers willing to host classes on their lands and/or help lead activities for school groups.

Walk in the Forest workshop, held each spring around the state, are intended to provide teachers an opportunity to learn about trees, forests, the environment, and how professionals and Tree Farmers care for New Hampshire’s forests and natural resources.

Participants learn strategies and tactics for taking students outdoors safely; apply basic skills for studying trees, wildlife, and our forests; receive classroom-ready activities that meet state standards in all disciplines; and receive a list of people and places available to host school groups on a Walk in the Forest.
