Characteristics of PLT
PLT activities are based largely on constructivist learning theory and whole language teaching strategies. They involve cooperative learning and emphasize a problem-solving approach to learning.
The PLT PreK-8 Activity Guide includes 96 activities. Each can be used individually to teach specific concepts or combined to form a conceptual story line.
PLT Secondary Modules are organized around distinct environmental topics and the scientific and social issues that relate to them. They include forest issues, forest ecology, municipal solid waste, and risk assessment. Secondary modules addressing forest of the world and the places we live will be released within the next two years.
