A Project Learning Tree event for teachers
interested in organizing an in depth, forest exploration for their
students or school.
FOREST FIELD DAY GOALS:
The goal of the Forest Field Day program is to provide teachers and their students an opportunity to learn about trees, forests, the environment, and how forest professionals care for New Hampshire’s forests and natural resources.
Participating schools will be left with support materials, assessment tools and community connections to sustain the existence of this program as an annual school event.
WHY YOUR SCHOOL SHOULD PARTICIPATE:
ü Learn strategies and tactics for taking students outdoors safely.
ü Apply basic skills for studying trees, wildlife, and our forests.
ü Practice skills and activities that you can use to study the schoolyard, town forest, local park, or forests within walking distance of your school.
ü Obtain a list of people and places in your region willing to take YOUR group on a Walk in the Forest.
ü Work with local Tree Farmers and foresters to learn about local natural resources.

New Hampshire Tree Farm Program - Since 1950, the New Hampshire Tree Farm Program has been promoting the growing of renewable forest resources while protecting environmental benefits and increasing public understanding of all benefits of productive forestry.
